Admission, Enrollment, and Waitlist

Waitlist

Families who are interested in enrolling in SSCS, schedule a Q&A meeting followed by a tour of the school. Tours are in late fall and early spring. After the tour, a wait list form is provided for interested families. There is a nonrefundable $85.00 waitlist fee.

Steps for being on the Wait List

  • Families make an appointment for a Q&A meeting with the directors followed by a tour of the school while children are present.

  • Families visit a minimum of three other preschools.

  • Families complete and submit a wait list form and nonrefundable fee.

  • Families stay in touch by visiting on a regular basis or contacting SSCS to check in.

  • Families are invited to enroll in March.

  • Adult members of the family attend a mandatory New Family orientation meeting. At this meeting, you will meet the educators and review the family handbook as a group activity. The New Family Orientation meeting is typically offered in May or June.

Admission & Enrollment

The first step for enrollment is to meet and have a tour with the directors, then follow the waitlist steps, and submit a waitlist form. Meetings provide opportunities to discuss the parent and caregivers’ expectations, individual needs of the child, and the role the school will play in the child’s life. Curriculum, approach, and the daily operation of the school are discussed, as well as expectations the school may have for families and children.

Our process for introducing children to our program is through participation in stay and plays, conversations between SSCS administration team, and a mandatory new family orientation.

Second Street Children's School does not discriminate in our employment practices, volunteer opportunities or delivery of programs and services on the basis of age, ancestry, citizenship, color, disability, ethnicity, familial status, gender identity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and/or veteran status. Children who may benefit from the services provided by the school, the curriculum, and/or the educators will be considered for enrollment.
